Having known Matt Spiller professionally for many years, we had absolutely no hesitation in asking him to take on the responsibility of bringing our vision for a complete strip-out and rebuild of the ground floor to life. With the removal of four internal walls and part of an external wall, we knew the disruption would be significant. However, due to our animal commitments, temporarily relocating simply wasn’t an option.

With that in mind, Matt and his team were exceptionally considerate throughout the entire six-month project. They carefully sectioned off working areas, communicated constantly about what was happening and what was coming next, and kept the site impressively clean given the scale of the work being undertaken. Their professionalism and respect for our living situation made a potentially very stressful experience far easier to manage.

As is often the case with major renovations to an existing property, a few unexpected surprises appeared once the ceilings and walls came down. This was where their experience truly shone through. They guided us through what was required under building control, explained everything clearly, and consistently offered the most practical and cost-effective solutions.

As the project progressed, that depth of knowledge proved invaluable. Matt and the team introduced ideas for the media walls and hallway joinery that we simply would never have considered ourselves, and those additions have become some of the standout features of the house. Combined with the quality of the workmanship throughout, the finished result looks and feels even more impressive than we had imagined at the outset.

I would also like to thank Matt, Nathan and Danut personally for turning what could easily have been a tumultuous six months into an unexpectedly engaging and ultimately very satisfying experience, especially given the scale and nature of the transformation.

Finally, a huge shout out to James the brickie for the INCREDIBLE fireplace stone cladding, the finished effect is absolutely mesmerising and has completely transformed the room.
